The session titled "From Silence to Empowerment: The Academic Impact of the MeToo University Movement" will be divided into two parts. The first part will feature a conference by Mar Joanpere, PhD in Sociology from the University of Barcelona and the first victim to win a sexual harassment case in Spanish universities. Her talk will focus on the origins and challenges of the university MeToo movement, highlighting how gender violence isolates victims, and the backlash faced by those who support them.
In the second part, participants will engage in a workshop to discuss a scientific paper on the topic, which will be shared with attendees beforehand. Through egalitarian dialogue, we will delve into the global impact of the movement and its ongoing struggle for change.
Moderation: Sophie Renninger und Andrea Bähr, JMU
